AMENITIES
Construction of The Broken Wagon Ranch House was completed in 2022. It has 1,280 square feet of heated and cooled living area downstairs in a nice but rustic décor. There is also a 1,280 square foot family room/playroom upstairs that is carpeted and that will be heated and cooled as soon as funds are available. A large 65'X44' pole barn is attached to the back of the Ranch House which includes concrete floors and 4 horse stalls. The Ranch House sits in a 25-acre pine forest where wild deer, turkeys and hogs are often seen. The pine forest is surrounded by pastureland and hardwoods.
The wooden walls downstairs are from the loft of an old barn that was built in 1935 and in which Glenn played and worked as a child, as did his and Lisa's children and grandchildren. The beautiful floors are acid-stained concrete that have a marble appearance.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The guest room has a twin trundle bed that makes into a king. In the main living area, there is a sofa with a queen size sleeper, a couch and an electric recliner. Downstairs will comfortably sleep 7 and we have cots for overflow. Once we get the upstairs heated and cooled, we can sleep several more comfortably. Both bedrooms and the living room have individually controlled heating and cooling units for individual comfort. The downstairs living area is decorated with lots of farming, cooking and other country living antiques.
The bath has a shower, sink and toilet. The kitchen is large, fully stocked and includes a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and a gas stove with convection oven. A large firepit (with all the wood you need) and grill are just off the large, covered front porch which has 4 wooden rockers and ceiling fans. Sitting on the peaceful front porch, the view is of the horse pasture and pines with the petting zoo and more pines off to the east. The freezer is stocked with hamburger meat, steaks, roasts, chicken and pork all of which are ready for the grill.
All beds have 'My Pillow' pillows and waterproof mattress covers that are machine washed between guests. If the need arises, the laundry room has a washer and dryer and all the detergent that is needed. The entire building is hand cleaned and disinfected between families. We do all that we can to ensure that every family can visit without fear of their health compromised loved ones being unnecessarily exposed to unclean living arrangements.
We do have farm animals, some enclosed, some roaming free, so we do ask that families bring outdoor shoes for outside use, and another set for indoor use. This will help us keep the inside of the Ranch House clean for the next family. Also, to ensure that the health of other families is not put at risk, we do not allow pets on the premises. However, we do have plenty of animals for you to love on!
